Notes
Once the hernia with mesh is closed, monitor airway pressures for worsening compliance (peak inspiratory pressure (PIP) > 30 cm H₂O, or a delta change of PIP > 8 cm H₂O). Communicate regularly with the plastic surgery team, especially once they begin closing the fascial layers.
