Ketamine Dosing

1. Administer 0.5 mg/kg on induction for general anesthesia (GA), followed by 10 mg every hour thereafter.
2. Alternatively, run an infusion at 0.2 mg/kg/hr. Note that approximately 5 mL of ketamine may be lost as waste in the tubing. Consider using a carrier infusion to facilitate the delivery of the ketamine into the intravenous (IV) line, as the infusion rate is relatively low (approx. 1–2 mL/hr).
