Remimazolam Dosing

- Remimazolam is a short-acting benzodiazepine with an ester structure,
resulting in organ-independent metabolism.
- Adult Patients:
- Induction: 5 mg intravenous (IV) over 1 minute.
- Maintenance: 2.5 mg IV over 15 seconds as needed (PRN), with at
least 2 minutes between doses.
- ASA Physical Status III or IV:
- Induction: 2.5–5 mg IV over 1 minute.
- Maintenance: 1.25–2.5 mg IV over 15 seconds PRN, with at least
2 minutes between doses.
- No dosing adjustments are required for patients based on body mass
index (BMI).
- The half-life of remimazolam is prolonged in cases of hepatic impairment.
