- TIVA (propofol/remifentanil/epinephrine) for neuromonitoring. Epinephrine gtt is to support BP in event of loss of motor signals and drive BP up
- Emergence
- Awake
- Antibiotics
- Cefazolin (30 mg/kg every 4 hr) + Gentamicin (2.5 mg/kg every 6 hr)
- Position
- Prone (surgeon accesses the posterior spine)
Notes
Neuromonitoring motors, particularly lower extremities as surgeon dissects out
Thoracic Biopsy (Pediatrics)
Access: PIV x2. No arterial line.
Airway: Double Lumen Oral ETT. Look up pediatric sizing table or measure the
airway diameters.
Induction: Standard
Maintenance: Gas and paralytic
Emergence: Awake
Antibiotics: Cefazolin
Position: Lateral position. Similar to other thoracic procedures, bed
breaking.\
